Parent Helpers

Our club’s success depends upon our parent volunteers. Volunteering can take as little as 1.5 hours every few months. There are a number of ways to volunteer.

Sit in on your child’s session occasionally.  (Time commitment: 1.5 hours once or twice a term)
In accordance with our child safety guidelines, two adults must be present at each session. Our coaches are DBS checked and will run the coaching session but we look to the parents of our players, if they can, to sit in on the occasional session.  We greatly appreciate the time our parent helpers give to us and as a ‘thank you’, we will pay you £5 per session.  This can be refunded to you at the end of each 6-7 week session, or you can use it as a credit towards the next session. You can sit in on any of the sessions.  It does not have to be the one in which your own child is attending.   To sign up for sessions, please use the Parent Rota .

Join the committee, or take up one of these little jobs as a project:

Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience. A lot of the roles are documented or have accompanying paperwork already in place to make things easier.   If you are interested, please contact Sue Dixon at 02380-267717 or  info@thorndenbadminton.org.uk

The time estimates do not include committee meetings, which occur 3-4 times a year… in a pub…
